Aprilia SR150 RACE is the updated version of the SR150. The new updates can be seen on the livery and also on the engine. For the new RACE edition, Aprilia has re-tuned the engine that helps its fire out extra power and torque. The SR150 RACE has been designed for riders with racing in their DNA. It features the RS-GP inspired styling and 14-inch Fluo Rosso large wheels.

It is powered by a 150cc SOHC air-cooled four-stroke engine mated to a CVT transmission system. It delivers 10.5 PS of power at 6750rpm and 11.4 Nm torque at 5000rpm.

Aprilia SR150 RACE comes in two variants, SR150 RACE ABS and SR150 RACE Standard. Its prices start from INR 77,300.

The Vespa VXL 150 is powered by a 3 valve 150cc Engine. Transmission duties are taken care of by the Continuously Variable Transmission system. Together, the unit produces 7.4 kW of maximum power at 6750 rpm and a maximum torque of 10.9 Nm at 5000rpm. The scooter features a Connectivity app, ABS, broader tyres, digital console, alloy wheels, comfy seats, among other features.

Vespa SXL 150 is another 150cc runner from the brand. It is a premium offering and comes with an over-a-lakh price tag. It is expensive but with premium features and build quality it surely justifies the ask. SXL 150 – From the roaring Sixties, comes a spark of energy that is the emblem of youth.

Vespa Elegante 150

The Elegante 150 takes inspiration from the beaches of Italy. It is a Special Edition that takes the retro looks very seriously. What sets it apart is a colour coordinated twin leather-finish seats, tinted flyscreen and an exclusive ‘Elegante Badge’. Accessories offered with the Vespa Elegante 150 are the colour coordinated helmet, an all-round chrome guard kit and a front bumper guard.

Under the hood is the same 150cc engine that powers the Vespa VXL 150 and SXL 150. The performance numbers are 7.4 kW of peak power at 6750rpm and 10.9 Nm peak torque at 5000 rpm. The scooter comes with ABS and Vespa’s connectivity app.

Yamaha Nmax 155

Yamaha Nmax 155 Thiland

The new Yamaha Nmax 155 was launched in Thailand this year. However, the Yamaha Nmax 155 model available in Thailand is a little less equipped with features compared to the Indonesian-spec model.

According to some sources, Yamaha is likely to introduce the Thailand-spec Yamaha NMax 155 maxi-scooter in the Indian market.

The Thailand-spec model features an all-LED headlamp and tail lamp. It also offers a full-digital instrument cluster that provides smartphone connectivity. Apart from these, the key highlight feature of this updated scooter is the traction control system, the first-of-its-kind in this segment.

The new Thailand-spec Yamaha NMax 155 scooter produces 15.36 PS maximum power and a peak torque of 13.9 Nm. The rated power of the new scooter is 0.5 PS higher however, the rated peak torque is 0.5 PS lower than the previous model.

Talking about the suspensions, the scooter offers telescopic forks and twin gas-charged shock absorbers at the rear end. The new Yamaha NMax 155 also features disc brakes on both front and rear wheel with dual-channel ABS (as an option).

The company is planning to launch the same Thailand-spec model in India at a starting price of somewhere around ₹1 lakh. However, the launch is expected to take place after the Indian two-wheeler industry returns to normalcy after the current pandemic is over.

Honda PCX 150

One of the biggest two-wheeler automakers, Honda unveiled the PCX150 twice in the Indian market. However, the company hasn’t launched the maxi-scooter in India yet. However, the company launched the 2020 edition scooter in Thailand along with four new colour options.

The Japanese two-wheeler manufacturer has made PCX150 futuristic in terms of styling thanks to the swoopy lines and sharp apron. The maxi-scooter is equipped with all-LED lighting and the twin LED headlights on the apron is the best highlight.

The Honda PCX150 is loaded with many features that include but not limited to keyless ignition, USB charger, complete digital instrument console, Honda smart key and 28 litres of under-seat storage.

In terms of engine, the Honda PCX150 has a 149cc motor powerhouse that produces a maximum power of 13.3PS and a peak torque of 14Nm. The maxi-scooter weighs 129kg and features an 8-litre fuel capacity tank.

If we talk about the Honda PCX150’s sale in the Indian market, Honda hasn’t made anything official yet but the scooter might go on sale in 2021 in India. When the maxi-scooter launches in India, it will be the flagship scooter from the Japanese two-wheeler manufacturer. In terms of price, the Honda PCX could carry a retail price tag of somewhere around ₹1.10 lakh to ₹1.20 lakh (ex-showroom).
