Honda Motorcycles and Scooters India (HMSI) has launched the all-new CBR650R in India, with prices starting at 7.70 lakh (ex-showroom, pan India). The successor to the CBR650F, the Honda CBR650R will be available in two colour options including Grand Prix Red and Matte Gunpowder Black Metallic.
Making its debut at the 2018 EICMA Motor Show in Milan, the new Honda CBR650R is based on a diamond type frame and measures s 2,135 mm in length, 749 mm in width and 1,149 mm in height while the wheelbase is rated at 1,449 mm. The fuel tank capacity stands at 15.4 litres while the model tips the scales at 210 kgs, 6 kgs are lighter than the outgoing model.
Propelling the Honda CBR650R is a 649cc, in-line four-cylinder engine that is capable of producing 88.4 hp at 11,500 rpm and 60 Nm of torque at 8,000 rpm. This engine is paired to a six-speed gearbox with slipper clutch.
In the design department, the 2019 Honda CBR650R is inspired by its elder sibling, the CBR Fireblade, and features similar looking LED headlamps and a new full LCD instrument console. Suspension duties on the model are taken care of by 41mm Showa sourced USD forks at the front and a monoshock unit at the rear. Braking duties are handled by 310mm twin discs and a 240mm single disc at the front and rear respectively. Also on offer is dual channel ABS and Honda Selectable Torque Control System that allows traction control to be completely turned off.
