Xiaomi Mi 8 – The Maths Behind Skipping the Mi7
Following a very slow and subtle launch therapy given to the Indian smartphone market, Xiaomi shifted gears to push out a smartphone device to each and every segment so that no consumer is left out. The company not only catered to every segment of smartphones but also confused the Indian consumers with a variety of options. These options competed more with themselves instead of taking down others brand offerings.
Xiaomi is now all set to bring a big player in the market that will be from their premium ‘Mi’ phone line up. After a year-long wait, enthusiasts are finally going to get a chance to meet the upcoming fighter of the line-up. The last from the Mi series was the Mi 6 – loaded with Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 coupled with 4 or 6GB of RAM, Dual camera, fancy colour options, and everything that proved it a worthy fighter a year ago.
Another version of the Mi 6 called as the Mi 6X was released last month. It entered the market with dual cameras, full displays, AI tech on the dual cameras but with less hardcore SoC. And now the actual successor is on the way. Some might guess and prepare to welcome the Mi7 but that is not the case. Xiaomi is all set to bring the new player in the market but it will be the Mi8 and not the Mi 7. And Xiaomi has given an explanation for the skip.
As per Xiaomi officials, they want to commemorate their 8 years in action and therefore the 7 has been skipped. On a recent poster released by the company states that the Mi 8 will be beyond the anticipated and we’re waiting to see what’s coming.
Previously Samsung skipped the Note 6 and brought the Note 7 into the market to get their Galaxy Series in sync with the numbers. Also, OnePlus skipped the OnePlus 4 due to spiritual reasons.
